Ask any DC fan, and they’ll tell you that Christopher Reeve embodies everything they love about Superman. He has the look, the acting skills, and even the charm. Imagine our surprise then that Christopher Reeve’s son, Will Reeve, also has the exact same Superman qualities.
Warner Bros. Needs A New Superman
Nobody really knows exactly what’s happening at Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment anymore. Today, Henry Cavill is still Superman. Tomorrow, he is not. Today, Ben Affleck is not our Batman. Tomorrow he is. It’s really hard to tell exactly who is in and who is out. On September 12th 2018, the internet exploded with the news that Henry Cavill was stepping down from the iconic Superman role. While some believe it is nothing more than a publicity stunt, follow-up reports claim that the company is already looking at replacements. Why has nobody considered Christopher Reeve’s son, Will Reeve, for Superman?
Is Christopher Reeve’s Son An Actor?
At this point, I’ll allow you to ask, “Who is Will Reeve and can he act?”
After one quick look at 31-year-old Will Reeve, you’ll be convinced that he could play Superman. With his broad shoulders, athletic build, earnest face and resemblance to his father, it’s pretty easy to see him as the iconic superhero. In fact, when you put his face side-by-side with the latest Superman comics, you’ll be impressed by how much he looks like the famous Kryptonian.
Will has been active as an actor since starring as Danny in 1997’s In the Gloaming, directed by his dad. He went on to play two other roles before beginning his career as a reporter at ESPN.
Will Reeve Is Not A Big Superman Fan
Unfortunately, there is one big problem. He isn’t a very big Superman fan. In an interview with Jeff Pearlman, Reeve discussed his disinterest in superheroes. “I’m not a huge Superman fan or fan of superhero movies in general.”
Still, I can totally see it. Perhaps Warner and DC will take note. Perhaps Will Reeve would be interested. Maybe.

Reaction to William Reeve as Superman
Feeling inspired by the Reeve legacy, Samukarts, popular for creating concept art for beloved franchises using Photoshop, designed a Superman poster featuring William Reeve as Superman. The image sees him tearing away his shirt to reveal the Superman suit underneath.
Many fans loved the idea and would be excited to see Reeve bring the character to life once again. They noted that watching the film play out would be an emotional time for anyone who had watched Christopher Reeve bring the Man of Steel to life.
Will Reeve Is Set To Appear James Gunn’s Superman
In July 2024, several news publications revealed that the journalist and ABC News correspondent would appear as “himself” (or at least some version of himself) in James Gunn’s 2025 DCU Superman film. The news was confirmed with set images showing Will Reeve interacting with the CEO of DC Studios in Cleveland, Ohio. According to sources, he has a cameo playing a TV reporter in the DC Studios movie.
But that’s not the only Superman film Reeve appears in. He is also in Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui’s documentary Super/Man (a film focused on his dad’s rise to fame) alongside his older siblings, Matthew and Alexandra.
“The majority of my memories of my dad involve him after the accident because I was not yet three years old when he was injured,” he told Variety in an interview. “So to see his entire life leading up until that time laid out so poetically and cinematically and authentically by our wonderful directors has been a real gift for me.”

I thought about this ? for a long time since he opened up about him and his father and it would be awesome and amazing for him to play the iconic role of Superman ?♂️ but we can’t change the minds of others but who knows maybe one day he will and maybe one day he won’t change his mind we just don’t know but I am really happy that this article actually showed up and I am happy that someone thought about this.

I knew when I saw him and the last name who he was. He should totally take the role as Superman. Who cares if he’s not a fan of superheroes. A lot of us aren’t a fan of taxes but we still pay them. Enough said offer him the role. A fresh face.
I think Will would make a great Superman. He looks just like his dad…It would be a natural choice. :)
I like Will he definitely embodies his late father Christopher who is one of my favourite Supermen.
However I really like Henry’s portrayal of the character.
I feel WB is full of people, who don’t like or know anything about these characters.
Henry has been one if not the biggest supporters of these films.
Gal who had a massive hit with WW should defend her co-star and let WB know if you get rid of Henry or Ben I’m leaving too.
I think we should give Jeff a chance. The first Superman didn’t like being Superman either.
