What would you do if I told you that one of the biggest game franchises is teaming up with one of the biggest fast-food franchises? It’s true. Burger King and Call of Duty are officially collaborating on a global campaign spanning over 40 countries worldwide, to celebrate Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

Burger King X Call of Duty

The main attraction will be a series of Call of Duty-themed Burger King meals that will be available between the 1st-30th of November 2022, and buying one will score consumers a free BK Operator skin and one hour of Double XP (2XP) for the game, which doubles the experience that players earn. The operator’s skin is emblazoned with the Burger Town logo.

Burger Town is the fictional fast-food chain that Call of Duty has created so that they don’t get a copyright complaint from Burger King, so, perfectly, this collaboration is coming to life. Unfortunately, only one hour of 2XP can be redeemed at a time, which doesn’t stack. However, once that one expires, players can keep redeeming for as many meals as they get, as long as it’s between the 1st – 30th of November.

“Many gamers are already patrons of quick-service restaurants and, by bringing to them bonus Call of Duty rewards, we can meet our guests where they are and tap into what they are passionate about in an authentic way,” says Iwo Zakowski, Senior Director of Global Brand Marketing at Burger King. “We’re thrilled to be joining forces with Call of Duty to bring our guests a free bonus for a game that they love.”

“We are incredibly excited to partner with Burger King to celebrate the release of Modern Warfare II with the Call of Duty community,” said William Gahagan, Director of Global Partnerships at Activision. “Our brands are coming together for an offer that fans will love, and I’m looking forward to seeing players online in the BK Operator Skin.”

Call of Duty Events

Select Burger King restaurants nationwide will have a real-life game atmosphere where consumers will have a ton more ways to win, like a roaming game station that will travel across the country visiting various restaurants in the cities of Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town. While the roaming station is in the restaurant, customers can get the usual reward as well as get a chance to play a time-trial version of the game at the station and receive a ranking on a leader-board, and enter an additional draw to win cool prizes such as gaming headsets, gaming monitor, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II the game, Burger Town T-shirts and meal vouchers.

There will also be three Going-Dark events, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in the ultimate immersive experience where the game will be brought to life, after-dark, and customers will have the opportunity to don some night-vision goggles and enter the ‘Going-Dark Tunnel’ for a fully immersive Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II challenge experience.

Lastly, there will be the NXTLevel Zone with other fun-themed activities, including a supposed surprise celebrity appearance.
