As the curtains close on Oscar Isaac’s role in the Star Wars franchise, the actor has his sights on another Disney role: Marvel’s Moon Knight.
According to reports, Isaac is in talks to debut in the MCU as the iconic superhero in a new series on Disney+.
The show is being developed by Jeremy Slater, who was also responsible for Netflix’s comic book adapted of the Umbrella Academy series.
For those who don’t know, the character is considered by many comic book fans as Marvel’s Batman.
Created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, Moon Knight aka Marc Spector, is a mercenary who fights the criminal underworld under numerous alter egos. He was established as being a conduit for the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu.
Like Batman, Moon Knight is wealthy, an expert detective, and even use similar gadgets, such as boomerang-like projectiles.
Oscar Isaac certainly is a great actor and seems like a perfect fit for the character and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Of course, this isn’t his first superhero role. He previously appeared in the X-Men comic book movie franchise as Apocalypse. The actor was also rumoured for Matt Reeves’ The Batman before Robert Pattinson was cast.
While Oscar Isaacs is still “in talks” for the Moon Knight role, we can’t imagine that he’ll turn the opportunity away. The character is hugely popular with comic book fans and Disney would definitely do well to do the live-action version of superhero justice.
