Saw 11 is finally taking shape. James Wan and Leigh Whannell are back, Blumhouse is steering the franchise, and both creators have said the plan is to dig back into Jigsaw’s psychology (the real reason 2004’s Saw was so scary). That renewed focus on how John Kramer became Jigsaw has resurfaced one of the internet’s most gleefully deranged fan theories: that Home Alone‘s booby-trap-obsessed Kevin McCallister grows up to be Jigsaw himself. It’s not canon or anything, but once you line up Kevin’s contraptions next to Jigsaw’s, it’s a fun idea. And, when you think about it, would actually make a great origin story for Saw 11.

Granted, all of this is just fun speculation – but once you notice how visually similar Kevin’s mental image of his living furnace and Jigsaw’s iconic reverse bear trap is, you might think that the fans might be on to something here.

So, Could Saw 11 Really Draw From This Theory?

After years of stalled scripts and producer infighting, Saw 11 is officially moving forward at Lionsgate and Blumhouse, with Wan mapping out the future of the franchise. Wan has been blunt about the direction: he wants the next film to be scary again, not just gory – psychologically scarring, like the original.

He’s also made clear that any future Saw movie needs Jigsaw front and centre, saying it’s nearly impossible to make one without him.

So, with John Kramer’s origins and philosophy back under the microscope ahead of the new film, it’s easy to see why fans are once again picking apart what could have turned a bratty eight-year-old vigilante into cinema’s most infamous trap-builder.
