In episode 15 of Supergirl, Kara will travel to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude to find out how to defeat a villain.
Kara travels to Superman’s Fortress of Solitude in hopes of learning how to defeat Indigo (Laura Vandervoort), a dangerous being who can transport via the Internet and who has a connection to Kara’s past. Also, James’s relationship with Lucy reaches a crossroads, on SUPERGIRL, Monday, Feb. 29 on the CBS Television Network.
The Fortress of Solitude is Clark Kent’s sanctuary in the Arctic, but it also holds a special Krypton heritage. Kara Danvers began using the Fortress of Solitude as well after becoming Supergirl.
Laura Vandervoort, who played Supergirl on The CW’s Smallville, will guest star as the villain, Indigo.
“Seeing the Fortress is something I wanted to do since the beginning of the show,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says. “What’s really fun about it is it’s almost an amalgamation of every Fortress that’s ever been seen. There are bits of it that are right out of the comics, like the key to let you in, and we have Kelex, the Kryptonian robot in the tomb. Then there’s other parts that echo the [Richard] Donner version as well, and there’s other stuff that’s brand new. That was really fun to be able to do.”

“It was really exciting to see those small touches,” adds executive producer Ali Adler, who likens the Fortress to a Virginia Woolf essay. “It really is the ultimate Room of One’s Own — he builds this amazing place of solitude. I brought [The Big Bang Theory‘s] Bill Prady to the set, and he was just blown away by this moment where Supergirl is walking through the Fortress.”
Melissa Benoist leads the cast of Supergirl as the title character alongside Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, Laura Benanti as Alura Zor-El, Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant, Chyler Leigh as Alexandra “Alex” Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winslow “Winn” Schott, Jenna Dewan Tatum as Lucy Lane (sister of Lois), David Harewood as Hank Henshaw, Peter Facinelli as Maxwell Lord, with Dean Cain and Helen Slater.
