It’s 2018 and Batman fans are still arguing about Zack Snyder’s 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We’ve pretty much heard every argument about why the film is bad, which includes people complaining about the dark tone, Superman’s story arc and, of course, Ben Affleck’s angry Batman. It seems this is still a hot issue as a recent Twitter war broke out regarding Batman’s killing spree in the film. This came after DC animation director Jay Oliva revealed that Man of Steel was intended to be the start of five films. Of course, Oliva defended Snyder’s decision and described the films as Elseworlds tales.
Jay Oliva isn’t the first director to defend Snyder’s vision either. In 2017, James Gunn took to Twitter to speak out against the constant bickering and even threatened to block those who continue to tag him in the DC vs Marvel debates.
It seems everyone has had just about enough of these arguments. But if fans really think they can argue the character of Batman with a DC director with 20-some films under his belt, they are seriously delusional.
