As fun as Guillermo Del Toro’s was, many would argue that they weren’t comic book accurate. Neil Marshall is set to correct that by offering an R-rated live-action version of the character. The new Hellboy trailer proves that he is on the right track.
For most people, when you think of Hellboy, you can’t imagine anybody else besides Ron Perlman. That said, David Harbour definitely seems to be giving it his all in the new trailers. If anything, the new footage proves that he is a suitable replacement for the ageing actor.
This reboot comes 15 years after Del Toro’s first movie. The Big Red looks cool, fun and still has his great sense of humour intact. This time around, however, he has left the PG-13 for sci-fi violence behind him.
Based on the graphic novels by Mike Mignola, Hellboy, caught between the worlds of the supernatural and human, battles an ancient sorceress bent on revenge.
The film also stars Ian McShane as Professor Broom, Milla Jovovich as the Nimue the Blood Queen, Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan, Daniel Dae Kim as Ben Daimio and Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida.
