New rumours and speculation suggest that The Batman director Matt Reeves is toying with the idea of introducing Robin in the upcoming film. While the character has been absent from live-action films for many years, he was last played by Chris O’Donnell in 1997’s Batman & Robin, a casting call for the film is requesting talent with “circus skills.” Fans have done some research and most of the evidence points to 24-year-old Timothée Chalamet playing Robin.
The Casting Collective has issued a call for extras and actors who are located in North West England and have circus skills, with a particular interest in fire dancers, fire breathers and puppet operators. The talent is needed for a “Major Action Feature Film” which is shooting in Liverpool this March.
While there was no specific mention of The Batman, the upcoming DC movie is currently shooting principal photography in and around the UK.
DC fans were also quick to point out that in the comics Dick Grayson’s Robin, Batman’s sidekick, comes from a family of acrobats known as the “Flying Graysons.”
When you put two and two together, it seems like a good fit. Plus, there are a few who have suggested that Dick was in one Reeves’ drafts of the film.
Dick was in a draft, and while he may or may not be in it, he’s definitely being set up. Reeves wants to use Robin. https://t.co/KIG5kmNiUg

All this points to the possibility of The Batman featuring Robin.
Furthermore, actor Timothée Chalamet has recently discussed Robin in a red carpet interview. With some of the cast members of The Batman also commenting on his Instagram posts.

Could Timothée Chalamet be the new Robin? It seems likely. The film already has an amazing cast that includes Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson and Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál. Chalamet seems a fit. He has the look. It would be great to see him fighting alongside Pattinson on screen.
