This year has been absolutely devastating for the entertainment industry. From the untimely loss of rock icons to the sudden departure of influential biologists, even Hollywood has felt this year’s wave of painful losses that leave an indelible mark on all our hearts. Here are 10 Hollywood actors who died in October 2025.

10. Jimmy Shaw (April 6, 1966 – October 11, 2025)

A Los Angeles native, Shaw had his first brush with Hollywood in Clive Barker’s Lord of Illusions before finding his calling in Spanish cinema and television, starring in series like The Ministry of Time.

9. Kimberly Hébert Gregory (December 7, 1972 – October 3, 2025)

Gregory was an emerging talent in modern TV with scene-stealing performances in Spike Lee’s I Think I Love My Wife. She also delved into voice acting, most notoriously playing Nicole Williams in the Cartoon Network animated sitcom Craig of the Creek.

8. John Woodvine (July 21, 1929 – October 6, 2025)

Better known across the pond than in Hollywood proper, Woodvine remained a beloved figure among horror fans for his role as Dr. Hirsch in An American Werewolf in London and his appearance in the underrated Enys Men.

7. Penelope Milford (March 23, 1948 – October 14, 2025)

Oscar-nominated for 1978’s Coming Home, Milford gained notoriety for starring in Vietnam-era dramas and teen cult classics. She later starred in the beloved Heathers, cementing her reputation as a teen icon.

6. Tony Caunter (September 22, 1937 – October 13, 2025)

Though he never starred in an American production, Caunter is undeniably a pop culture icon for American fans of Doctor Who and The Avengers (not the Marvel ones). He also starred in the BBC’s EastEnders for nine years, from 1994 to 2003.

5. Ron Dean (August 15, 1938 – October 5, 2025)

From The Breakfast Club to The Dark Knight, Dean embodied the “Chicago tough guy” to a T. His filmography reads like a “Best Of” of 80s and 90s flicks, including The Fugitive and Rudy.

4. Ed Williams (November 26, 1926 – October 2, 2025)

You might remember Williams for his iconic role as Ted Olson in the Police Squad! series, a role he reprised in The Naked Gun trilogy. Sadly, he didn’t reprise his role in the recent Naked Gun revival: his crazy gadgets will be sorely missed.

3. June Lockhart (June 25, 1925 – October 23, 2025)

A veritable Hollywood legend, Lockhart is a timeless TV matriarch beloved by generations for her wholesome roles in shows like the original Lassie television series and Lost in Space.

2. Björn Andrésen (January 26, 1955 – October 25, 2025)

The man who inspired an entire anime subgenre due to his boyish good looks, Andrésen first rose to prominence in Italian cinema before transitioning to a global audience with movies like Midsommar and becoming the subject of the 2021 Swedish documentary The Most Beautiful Boy in the World.

1. Diane Keaton (January 5, 1946 – October 11, 2025)

Keaton leaves a peerless legacy as an undeniable part of Hollywood’s Hall of Fame, with unforgettable performances in movies like Annie Hall and the Godfather trilogy – not to mention her trailblazing fashion legacy, the “Annie Hall style”.
