Earlier this week, ASUS hosted its virtual event, Wow the World, with a promise to deliver both visuals and versatility at the event. They did so in the form of the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED.
This 2-in-1 laptop was designed as the world’s first 13.3″ Windows detachable unit while bringing with it an impressive OLED screen. As a result, they kept their promise of delivering visuals and versatility.
With the form-factor, the laptop makes it easier to enjoy everything, everywhere. This eliminates the need to carry multiple devices for work and entertainment.
Beautifully Styled
The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED is “vivaciously styled” and extremely versatile. It has a detachable, full-size keyboard, along with a cover stand and a 170° hinge.
Added to the contents of your purchase is the high-precision ASUS Pen 2.0 stylus. It is neatly stored in a handy magnetic pen holder, always in reach.
The unit is capable in both landscape or portrait mode, as well as with or without a keyboard. This makes writing, typing or watching in any environment quite effortless. It provides users with a passport to a new world of freedom.
Personal OLED TV
One of the key aspects of the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate is its OLED screen. Designed for entertainment, the 13.3″ OLED Dolby Vision touchscreen brings content to life.
It is capable of displaying 1.07 billion colours, putting conventional laptops and tablets to shame. Additionally, it is PANTONE® Validated, as well as includes cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 gamut.
The unit sports DisplayHDR™ True Black 500 certification, for deep blacks and brilliant highlights. It has a super-fast response time of 0.2ms, while also offering enhanced eye protection with naturally lower blue-light levels.
Sketchbook-Ready
Thanks to its 2-in-1 design, the unit is a great tool for content creators. This is further enhanced by means of the high-precision ASUS Pen 2.0, which turns the unit into a notable sketchbook.
The Pen itself has Microsoft Pen Protocol 2.0 compliance, making it easier to write, draw or annotate. It has 4,096-level pressure sensitivity, along with 5-350 gram pen-tip force and 266Hz sampling rate.
Additionally, there are four interchangeable pen tips. These have different textures, similar to that of 2H, H, HB and HB pencils. This is a must-have for artists, giving users a natural feel for sketching and drawing.
The pen can be recharged via a USB-C charger. Furthermore, when paired via Bluetooth, the shortcut button provides intuitive one-click functions, such as taking screenshots or navigating to the next page of a presentation.
Versatility
Finally, we have the unit’s versatility. The Vivobook 13 Slate OLED excels at on-the-go productivity. Whether you’re working, creating content or in search of entertainment, the unit more than capable of holding its own.
The unit has a magnetically-attached, full-sized keyboard, which has a long 1.4 mm key travel. Its full size makes it easier to type, as you would on a standard laptop. The dished keycaps also increase fingertip comfort.
It also has a very large touchpad, which has been designed for maximum responsiveness and accuracy.
When it comes to getting the job done, you needn’t have to worry about performance. The laptop includes a quad-core 3.3 GHz Intel CPU, 256GB PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 SSD, along with options up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It also runs on Windows 11, allowing you to use your Android apps on the laptop for dual functionality.
The ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED will launch in South Africa in Q1 2022.
Additionally to the standard model, the Slate will also soon come in two exciting and exclusive Artist Editions. These units reflect contemporary pop culture and celebrate individuality.
