Following the reveal of the Zombieland 2: Double Tap trailer, developer High Voltage Software has announced a tie-in game based on the upcoming zombie sequel called Zombieland: Double Tap – Road Trip.
Road Trip is a top-down, twin-stick shooter and features local co-op multiplayer for up to four players.
The game has been described by the developer as being “ridiculously fun”, which sounds about right for a game where you mow down hordes of zombies.
It will also feature a story mode inspired by the characters and humour from the film franchise. High Voltage hasn’t released much about the game’s narrative, except that the Zombieland game puts you in the zombie-blood stained shoes of one of the film’s four protagonists (Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock). We also know that it will be taking place between the events of the first and second film.
As expected, Road Trip will have an arsenal of weapons to try out on the zombie hordes and characters will also have access to abilities to help them survive.
