It seems that Warner Bros. bowed to pressure and fixed Wonder Woman’s armpits after the controversial outrage by a few fans. The new footage shows her much smoother armpits.
No one would have predicted that Gal Gadot’s ‘unnatural looking armpits’ would become a hot topic of conversation during the marketing of the film. However, it did. One shot in particular, which sees Diana Prince tossing an entire tank over her head at enemy soldiers, was brought into question because it showed her hairless, smooth, and paler than the rest of her skin armpits. Of course, the criticism must have caught wind, because Warner has gone on to change, or ‘fix’, the shot in the latest marketing videos for the film.
“Is this seriously still happening in 2017,” cried Slate Magazine.
“Do better!” said Revelist.
“[Wonder Woman] proves that women—even those who are superheroes—don’t have to cater to beauty standards that are meant to make them more attractive to men,” shouted Refinery29.

We imagine that this was done digitally by artists who were required to color-match Gadot’s skin tone to rest of her body – removing the greenish tint from her arms. It’s, of course, completely insane that something this small would cause such a big uproar. That said, it’s probably not the first and the last time that this will happen. Warner’s DC films have been held to a much higher standard and scrutiny, with many critics and fans expecting nothing short of perfection.
However, fans have noted that Wonder Woman has never had armpit hair in the comic books. Personally, we prefer our version of the trailer, which features Wonder Woman’s armpits with hair:
