Today Sony revealed details of their upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, the next-gen remastering of Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PlayStation 5.
There’s one major problem though. They’ve changed Peter Parker’s face.

Fans were expecting the obvious graphical updates. However, nobody would expect a completely new look for Peter Parker. The character is almost unrecognisable when compared to the PS4 version.
And that’s because they’ve recast the actor.
The PlayStation Blog revealed the reasoning behind the major change:
In order to bring the best performances to players with our next-generation Marvel’s Spider-Man games, we have recast the face of Peter Parker. We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker actor Yuri Lowenthal’s facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console. He looks incredible in-game, and Yuri’s moving performances take on a new life.

The good news, however, is that Sony announced that a voucher code for Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be included with the Miles Morales: Ultimate Edition on the PlayStation 5 console.
What do you think? Is this an improvement on the original Spider-Man or did you prefer the actor from the PlayStation 4 version?
