Lucasfilm has revealed their upcoming line of toys for the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story movie in a new stop-motion short film titled Star Wars Go Rogue Chapter 1.
The Rogue One short film is the first of a four-part web series written by Kevin Ulrich, directed by Tucker Barrie with stop-motion by animator Dan MacKenzie. The short features Funko Pops, Hasbro figures and Lego Kits based on the movie all coming together in hilarious harmony. The short seems to loosely follow the plot of the film but it definitely has its fair share of parody moments. Star Wars Go Rogue Chapter 1 is officially sanctioned by Lucasfilm, and is part of a contest where entrants craft their own animations in a bid to win a chance to see the Rogue One film at a special screening. The rest of the chapters for Star Wars Go Rogue will be released throughout September.
Rogue One releases in December 2016 and is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Forest Whitaker, and Alan Tudyk,
