A fan film titled It All Goes Away, based on the Superman comic book story “Sam’s Story”, has all the feels.
Financed by crowdfunding through Indiegogo, filmmaker Zachariah Smith has put together a short fan film which adapts the 2006 short story “Sam’s Story” written by television/comic book writer Jeph Loeb. The story originally appeared in Superman/Batman #26 and was written to honor the memory of Loeb’s son who tragically passed away in 2005 at the age of 17 following a three-year battle with bone cancer.
Based on “Sam’s Story” by Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale. Superman and all related characters are owned by DC Comics. Superman Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
“I think that people will always have tragedies and problems in their lives, but I do know that characters like Superman will always be there to show us that we can surpass them and demonstrate that it is absolutely more than ok to just be yourself” said Zachariah Smith in an interview with Forces of Geek.
We really need more Superman fan films like this one.
