Ever since its launch, Warframe has seen it’s dedicated fanbase steadily growing. One of the biggest barriers for new players has always been the game’s depth when it comes to its lore and overall gameplay. This has prompted developer Digital Extremes to try and make it easier for new players to grasp the game’s intricacies. As part of this process, they released a new CGI trailer for the game directed by 10 Cloverfield Lane‘s Dan Trachtenberg.
The new Warframe CGI trailer aims to shed some light on the three main Warframes players can get their hands on when they start the game. It has everything one would want in a CGI trailer: action, tension and some amazing fighting sequences.
Trachtenberg started playing the game while working on 10 Cloverfield Lane and has continually returned to the game over the past few years. His love for the game clearly shows in the trailer. He also commented on how he and Hungarian studio Digic Pictures literally motion captured everything you see in the trailer. This is quite a feat if one looks at just how much moment and acrobatics are found in the trailer.
“We motion-capped everything. There’s almost nothing that wasn’t mo-capped. All of the movement felt like it could be done, because it really was being done, legitimately acting all the flips and slides and spins and weapon movements out in mo-cap. And our actress gave an incredible performance that we were only able to use a snippet of in the actual cinematic, but it was terrific and really grounded things.”
Expect more announcements about Warframe in the coming months. Until then, we have this great looking trailer to get us excited about what the future holds for the franchise.
