Another day, another gaming leak. This time a listing from Ubisoft’s own online store might have just revealed the next Ghost Recon game.
If the listing from the Ubisoft store is to be believed, the next Ghost Recon game will be called Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
The listing also shows a collector’s edition of the game that comes with a statue of a masked figure brandishing two weapons. The figure is said to be Cole D. Walker, a new character introduced in the latest two missions for another Ubisoft game, Wildlands, and who is voiced by none other than Jon Bernthal from The Walking Dead and Punisher TV series.
All we really know about Mr Walker, thanks to his appearance in Wildlands, is that he is a Ghost Team Leader on the hunt for the truth. He is also apparently in charge of a whole army of weaponised drones, which is never a good thing.
The leak also mentions that the game is supposedly a direct sequel to Wildlands which suggests that Walker might have gone rogue after the events of the game, which does make sense as no one just decides to use their drone army for evil out of the blue.
There is also a mention of the release date being the 4th of October 209 and that the game will release on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
Now, as with all leaks, this is to be taken with a grain of salt, although Ubisoft has announced that they will be revealing something Ghost Recon related later today, which makes us think that this leak might have more than a grain of truth to it. I guess we will just have to wait and see what Ubisoft reveals later today.
Are you excited for a new Ghost Recon game or would you have preferred Ubisoft announcing a new Splinter Cell game like many fans were hoping?
