Stephen King’s horror story about a small town engulfed in a mysterious fog filled with monsters is getting a 10-episode TV series. Here is the first trailer for The Mist.
“There’s something in the mist,” says a voice in the first trailer for Spike TV’s upcoming series. “That’s what it does, it screws with your mind.”
We’ve already had one great adaptation of Stephen King‘s classic novella, thanks to Frank Darabont’s awesome film of the same name, but now, 10-years later, we’re getting a TV series. It’s a slightly different take on the story, replacing the grocery store setting for a church. Let’s hope it lives up to the material.
As the eerie fog rolls in, a family is torn apart by a brutal crime that suddenly cuts them off from the rest of the world, and in some cases, each other. Family, friends and adversaries become strange bedfellows, battling the mysterious mist and its threats, fighting to maintain morality and sanity as the rules of society break down.
The Mist series stars Morgan Spector, Alyssa Sutherland, Gus Birney, Danica Curcic, Okezie Morro, Luke Cosgrove, Darren Pettie, Russell Posner, Dan Butler, Isiah Washington, Jr. and Frances Conroy and premieres on Spike June 22.
