It’s been 13 years since the legendary horror icon first braced the screen, but is anyone still interested in playing a game? It doesn’t matter. Lionsgate has released the first trailer for its upcoming horror film Jigsaw, the eighth instalment in the Saw franchise.
On Friday, October 27, Saw 8, now continuing under the name Jigsaw, will get a bloody return to the big screen. John Kramer, better known as the methodological Jigsaw who decided to punish those he felt had disrespected the gift of living, might have died in 2006’s Saw III but that didn’t stop the studio from making another five movies.
Jigsaw takes place ten years after the death of John Kramer when a copycat arises.
The good news is that this new “reboot” is co-directed by siblings Michael and Peter Spierig who are responsible for Daybreakers and Predestination.
One of the highest grossing horror franchises of all time is back, taking the Jigsaw killer’s signature brand of twisted scenarios to the next level.
