There’s Another New Death Stranding Trailer. Haven’t We Seen Enough?

Hideo Kojima has released yet another short trailer for his upcoming game, Death Stranding, which is simply titled ‘The Drop’.

Death Stranding

The latest Death Stranding trailer is very short and basically shows the game’s protagonist, played by Norman Reedus, mostly running away from various threats out to stop him from completing his mission.

What is this mysterious mission, you might ask? Well, as he mentions in the trailer, it’s to reconnect a broken world, which, of course, he admits isn’t as simple as it seems.

With the game’s release drawing closer, it feels like Kojima has started to release new information and trailers for the game each week. While this is a great thing for many fans, I have to be honest and admit that I actually preferred it when he was keeping some of the information to himself. This whole initial draw of the game was just how mysterious it was. Although we still arent 100% sure what the game is about, many of the trailers we’ve seen recently haven’t revealed much at all, which makes them feel a tad redundant.

We are very excited for the game, and not just because we love almost everything Kojima does (although he has had some missteps) but also because, in a triple-A space that seems saturated with sequel upon sequel, here is a studio trying to do something different. Whether the game is a success or a complete letdown, Kojima and his team are to be commended for at least trying to break away from the mundanity we’ve seen engulfing the tripe-A space.

Death stranding finally releases on the 8th of November for the PlayStation 4.
