The popular fast-food chain Arby’s is finally bringing back one of its most popular gaming accessories, the Dungeons and Dragons dice set. They were initially created and sold back in 2021 and sold out ridiculously fast. However, fans have requested the dice set’s re-release for years, and Arby’s finally answered the call.

The dice set’s release was celebrated through a Tweet from Arby’s official account, which featured an image of the die along with the caption, “! ! ROLL FOR INITIATIVE ! ! HAT DICE ARE BACK IN THE ARBY’S SHOP” and a link to the dice.
Dice Set Design

As will all D&D dice sets, Arby’s includes seven translucent dice. Each dice contains a miniaturised version of the fast-food chain’s hat emblem, and gold numerals decorate the outside. Their name and logo appear on the 20-sided dice instead of the 20.
The set’s promotional photo on Twitter included an Arby’s terrain set piece, which was flanked by two paper standees: a wizard and what could be a Rogue.
The set hasn’t been released in direct association with the new film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, but the film helped promote the set. An entirely new group of D&D fans has been created thanks to the new movie, and what better dice to start with than a set from your favourite fast-food place?

Fast-Food Chains’ History with Games
This is not the first time a fast-food chain has capitalised on a popular game. Pizza Hut has released Genshin Impact-themed merchandise, including pizza boxes and cups. In addition, McDonald’s collaborated with Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery for a giveaway.
Other chain restaurants created their own TTRPGs, the most notable being Wendys’ Feast of Legends, which had its own rulebook and featured parodies of its rivals. Even Old Spice got on the D&D bandwagon. They released a custom D&D class called “The Gentlemen” and a line of products around the same time the movie was released.

Dice Sets are Selling Out Ridiculously Quickly
The one problem with the dice sets is that they seemed to be sold out as soon as they were released, which led to many complaints in the comments under Arby’s post. Arby’s made commented, “All the dice have been looted. Rumor has it there will be a second drop at 11am ET on Friday.” several times, but it did nothing to soothe those who hadn’t yet managed to purchase the dice, which appeared to be just about everyone.
If consumers weren’t getting an “out of stock” notification, Arby’s site simply refused to accept their payment information. Some commented on Arby’s refusal to take their money due to what they assumed was a faulty system, while one or two bemoaned Arby’s unwillingness to bring back Potato Cakes.
