Who would have thought that we’d still be talking about Blumhouse’s The Purge all these years later? The 2013 horror/thriller film about an American dystopia has spawned three sequels and, now, a television series too.
The core concept behind the franchise has always been strong. For those who don’t know, The Purge revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Of course, this causes all kinds of mayhem for residents who just want to survive the night.
The Purge TV series, starring Gabriel Chavarria, Jessica Garza, Hannah Emily Anderson, Lili Simmons, Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell, Lee Tergesen, William Baldwin, Fiona Dourif and Reed Diamond, premiers on the USA Network on the September 4th with ten episodes. The first will be directed by Emmy and Golden Globe-Winning Anthony Hemingway (CSI: NY, The Wire, Falling Skies).
