Sad news for those who were looking forward to jumping back into the sand-filled world of Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time as Ubisoft has announced via Twitter that the remake of the titular game has been delayed — indefinitely.
The reason for the delay? Well, as one would expect, the team needs more time to make the final product the best it can be.

The delay, of course, isn’t really a big deal, and is a little expected, especially after the lacklustre reception from fans when the first gameplay was released.
Also, the move comes after developer CD Projekt Red was taken to task by fans for releasing a very buggy Cyberpunk 2077. This is something that has plagued the gaming industry for quite some time. So, if a studio wants more time to ensure a working and great playing game, then this should be considered a good thing.
The statement from Ubisoft seems to indicate that the team behind the remake is taking the game’s development seriously and, seeing as the team consists out of passionate fans of the franchise, they want other fans to end up getting the best final product they can develop.
“It is your passion and support that is driving our development teams to make the best game possible. With that said, we have made the decision to shift the release for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake to a later date. This extra development time will enable our teams to deliver a remake that feels fresh while remaining faithful to the original.”
The Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time Remake was initially slated to be released in January 2021, after which Ubisoft delayed the game to March 2021. Hopefully, the delay helps the team create a faithful, yet innovative remake.
