“Sometimes dead is better,” a tag reads in the opening moments of the chilling new trailer for the Pet Sematary reboot by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer.
It’s been a great year for Stephen King, with many of his classic novels being rebooted or adapted for film and television. With IT being such a huge success, studios are hoping to cash in on the nostalgia by rebooting other ’80s hits, like 1989’s Pet Sematary by Mary Lambert.
One of the film’s screenwriters, Jeff Buhler, recently told Dread Central that the horror remake will be “the scariest Stephen King adaptation ever.”
Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, (#StephenKing) #PetSematary follows Dr Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbour, Jud Crandall (#JohnLithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
Pet Sematary, which stars John Lithgow, Jason Clarke and Amy Seimetz, will hit theatres on April 5, 2019. Is this a must-see?
