The Marvels has had a bumpy road from conception until now, having been pushed back at least four times before settling on a release date. Now that they are finally getting closer and closer to a release date, Disney and Marvel have started releasing promotional material to promote the movie. This all sounds great, but there is just one problem…Fans have noticed that there is something wrong with The Marvels faces – especially Brie Larson’s.

Fans were elated when it was announced that The Marvels was finally in development and that they would be able to see Brie Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris starring together as The Marvels, Carol Danvers as Captain Marvel, Kamala Khan as Ms Marvel and Monica Rambeau respectively.
The Marvels follows Carol Danvers as she gets her powers entangled with Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, who didn’t seem to have powers before becoming entangled. Now that the three are connected, they must figure out how to work together to save the universe from the latest threat.
After a bit of a bumpy ride, the posters for the film were finally up, and fans were excited until they started seeing what the actresses looked like… Fans really feel like the PR group dropped the ball on this one. After the promotional material was released, fans have been uploading pictures of them on sites like Instagram and Reddit, and Redditers are particularly having a ball with the poster.

In the post’s comments, fans point out that there is something wrong with two of the actresses’ faces on the posters, starting with Brie Larson. Her face is oddly flat, and her eyes are entirely different, lit up and looking like a completely different colour.
To be fair, Brie Larson has had little time on screen since Captain Marvel, having appeared briefly for scenes in Avengers: Endgame, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and even some cameo work for Ms. Marvel. Still, fans have yet to learn what Brie Larson’s face looks like.
Unfortunately, Iman Vellani’s face wasn’t saved by the strange Photoshop treatment, as fans noted that it looked like the mask that she is usually wearing has been “airbrushed” off, leaving her face with strange lighting and subtle shapes that don’t really look like they are meant to be there.

Both ladies’ on The Marvels squad’s faces look highly photoshopped, while Teyonah Parris looks as stunning as ever. While we are all wondering why this is the case, several minds in the tech business have suggested that the reason for this is an upcoming trend in the entertainment industry. The current trend is to cut budgets by not having to commission traditional artwork from artists for their promotional material and instead using AI-generated artwork and Photoshop and editing to fix some of the finer details. The result is not fooling many of the fans.
The film’s release date was initially set for July 2022, and the movie was pushed back at least four times before the studio could finally finish it and set a release date. The Marvels will be released on the 10th of November, 2023. Hopefully, the posters will improve, but we can rest assured that they won’t look like that in the film.
