Sony has confirmed the release dates for The Last of Us Part II and Ghosts of Tsushima on the official PlayStation blog.
Originally slated to release on the 29th of May 2020, Naughty Dog delayed the highly-anticipated The Last of Us Part II indefinitely (due to the COVID-19 outbreak). Today Sony confirmed the new release date for the game, which will be the 19th of June 2020.
Sony also confirmed that Sucker Punch’s Ghosts of Tsushima will release a month later, on the 17th of July 2020.
It’s quite impressive that PlayStation will be releasing two of their biggest titles for the year a month apart.
Sony Interactive Entertainment head of worldwide studios Hermen Hulst congratulated the teams on the PlayStation Blog, stating how proud he was of both developers. “I want to personally congratulate and thank both the teams at Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch Productions on their achievements, as we know it’s not an easy feat to reach the finish line under these circumstances. Both teams have worked hard to deliver world-class experiences, and we can’t wait to see what you think of them when they release in just a few short months.”
Both these games are said to be the last really big first-party titles from Sony until the release of the Playstation 5, which many expect should be at the end of the year. However, this could change, as the COVID-19 outbreak has seen delays hitting various industries including gaming.
Hopefully, this will be the last time Sony has to announce release dates for these two games. We cant wait to get our hands on The Last of Us Part II and Ghosts of Tsushima
