A Harrison Ford lookalike could be the key to resurrecting Indiana Jones and Han Solo. You may have already seen this talented Dutch-Australian impressionist and actor in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. His name is Anthony Ingruber, and he has an uncanny ability to mimic famous actors.
Ingruber not only does a remarkable impression of Harrison Ford, but the young actor also closely resembles a younger version of the star.
Ingruber is best known as John Doe/Joker in the video games Batman: The Telltale Signs (2016) and Batman: The Enemy Within (2017-2018). The actor also appeared as a young Harrison Ford in 2015’s Age of Adaline and more recently in the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, where he starred as a young Indiana Jones.

Ingruber gained internet fame on YouTube for his impressions of famous stars like Sean Connery, Daniel Day-Lewis, Jack Nicholson, Mark Hamill’s Joker, Harrison Ford and many others. The young impressionist caught the eye of casting directors, and Ingruber was offered the role of a young William Jones in Age of Adaline, where Harrison Ford plays the older version of William Jones.
In an interview with IGN for his role as Joker in Batman: The Telltale Series, Anthony mentions that he found out how he got the part months after wrapping season 1. He said that Telltale Games saw his Joker impressions on YouTube and decided to audition him for the part.
Ingruber gave an outstanding performance as Joker, which explored the character from varying angles never seen before. The Joker is a patient in Arkham who can become a villain or vigilante depending on the player’s choices in the game. Ingruber portrayed a multifaceted Joker, able to move between the friendly version that seeks to befriend an incarcerated Bruce Wayne and the psycho-clown version.
Han Solo and Indiana Jones
Ingruber’s work on Age of Adaline and his YouTube impressions helped him secure a role as the young Indiana Jones in The Dial of Destiny. The actor’s uncanny resemblance and close impression of Ford created a storm online amongst Star Wars and Indiana Jones fans. Many were dumbfounded that Disney did not cast Ingruber in the Han Solo film.
Some online fans argued that Ingruber wasn’t a true actor but an impressionist and lacked Ford’s charm and swagger. It has to be noted that Harrison Ford was a late bloomer and only took acting lessons in the final quarter of his senior year of college.
Ingruber’s work on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and in Age of Adaline was commendable. With some more refinement, the actor could easily star as a young Indiana Jones or Han Solo. If Disney ever needs someone to play Ford in other Han Solo or Star Wars films, they need look no further for a suitable replacement for Harrison Ford.
