Over the past few days, seemingly official pop-ups messages in Grand Theft Auto Online have been announcing that GTA VI is on the way. Unfortunately, these messages have turned out to be nothing other than fakes.
Numerous Grand Theft Auto Online players have been reporting pop-up messages announcing that GTA VI is releasing in 2019.
The pop-up message which numerous players reported via Reddit and the GTA Online forums state that “GTA VI Coming 2019”. The posts even include screenshots showing the supposedly official pop-up message. Of course, many believed these messages to be real, seeing as they popped up in-game as an official notice from the game’s developer Rockstar.
What many noticed was that these messages only seemed to pop-up on the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions which are notorious for being modded and hacked by players. The fact that these messages don’t seem to be appearing on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions immediately indicated to some that this was most probably a hoax.
The final nail in the rumour coffin was that Rockstar support officially confirmed via Twitter that the announcements were fake, which broke many fans hearts who wanted to see a new GTA title released.
This is a hoax made with the use of mods, and not an official message or statement from Rockstar Games. *OV

I guess we’ll have to wait a bit longer to for the next Grand Theft Auto game. Luckily, we have the next Red Dead Redemption game releasing in a few months to tie us over until then.
