With the release of The Surge 2 just around the corner, developer Deck 13 has released a brand new gore-filled trailer for the game.
The Surge 2 trailer shows off just how gory the upcoming game gets as it contains its fair share of spurts of blood and limbs flying around. Beneath all the violence, however, there seems to be a deep and engaging combat system that forces you to think strategically and not just run in weapons flailing.
Judging by the trailer, many might compare the game’s combat to that of Dark Souls and, while there are elements of that in the Surge series, it does add it’s own unique twist, like targeting specific body parts of enemies, curring them off and then using them to upgrade your own.
So, basically, if you like an enemy’s robotic appenmdage, you can slice it off and take it for yourself. It’s this mechanic that made the first game so memorable and it’s great to see it being expanded on.
The developer has also promised that the world of The Surge 2 will be more open than in the first game, encouraging players to go exploring every nook and cranny.
