Bandai Namco and developer Supermassive Games have announced their next project: a horror game anthology series titled The Dark Pictures.
The Dark Pictures anthology will consist of a series of stand-alone games basically designed to scare the living daylights out of gamers. Each of these games will feature new characters, settings and narrative with a binding thread that each will be just as scary as the next. The first of the games in the series is called Man of Medan and will see players switching between a cast of four Americans and the captain of the ship. So, why will these characters find themselves on a ship? Well, they are on a trip to dive at a rumoured World War II wreckage. As things tend to go in most horror-inspired tales, everything goes horribly wrong when a mysterious storm moves in. The game, as with previous games by the developer, will feature multiple branching storylines and plots adding to the game’s overall replayability. We are excited to see what new scares Supermassive Games can come up with especially since we are such huge fans of Until Dawn. In a game where each decision matters and may have lasting consequences, who will live and who will die?
Man of Medan, the first in the The Dark Pictures anthology, will release in 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
