Universal Pictures has released the first official trailer for The Boss Baby: Family Business. Loosely based on Marla Frazee’s 2010 picture book of the same name, the film is the second instalment in the Boss Baby franchise and serves as a sequel to the 2017 film.
The Boss Baby followed the adventures of seven-year-old Tim on his quest to help his secret-agent baby brother, Ted win the war for parents love between babies and puppies.
The new movie is set decades later. The Templeton brothers have become adults and drifted apart. Tim is now a married stay-at-home dad, while Ted is a hedge fund CEO.
Tim and his wife Carol live in the suburbs with their super-smart daughter, Tabitha and adorable new baby Tina. Tabitha, who’s at the top her class at the prestigious Acorn Center for Advanced Childhood, idolizes her Uncle Ted and wants to become like him. But Tim, still in touch with his overactive youthful imagination, worries that she’s working too hard and is missing out on a normal childhood.
When baby Tina reveals that she’ a top-secret agent for BabyCorp on a mission to uncover the dark secrets behind Tabitha’s school and its mysterious founder, Dr. Erwin Armstrong – the Templeton brothers reunite in unexpected ways. This leads them to re-evaluate the meaning of family and discover what truly matters.
Directed by Tom McGrath from a screenplay by Michael McCullers, the movie stars Alec Baldwin as Boss Baby, Ted and James Marsden as his brother Tim.
The cast also includes the voice talents of Amy Sedaris as Tina, Ariana Greenblatt as Tabitha, Eva Longoria as Carol and Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Erwin Armstrong. Lisa Kudrow and Jimmy Kimmel also reprise their roles as Ted and Tim’s parents.
