Between 2015 and 2016, IDW released a special crossover event that saw the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fight alongside the Dark Knight. Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was a smash hit and there were even rumours that an animated film would follow. Imagine what a live-action Batman Versus Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie would be like.
For those who missed the comic, Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, written by James Tynion IV and drawn by Freddie Williams II, sees The Turtles and Shredder transporting to an alternate universe by Krang. In Gotham City, they meet Batman and clash with a number of the city’s villains while attempting to find their way home.
The six issues were titled Knights in a Half Shell, Last Turtle Standing, Totally Awesome Team-Up, New Friends, Old Ghosts, Deadly Mutant Arkham Inmates and The Way Home.
It later went onto become an animated film called Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Directed by Jake Castorena, and starring Troy Baker, Darren Criss, Kyle Mooney, Baron Vaughn, Eric Bauza, Rachel Bloom, Ben Giroux, Cas Anvar, and Andrew Kishino, the film has an approval rating of 100% with an average rating of a 7.3/10 on Rotten Tomatoes.
Using clips from Batman v Superman and TMNT: Out of the Shadows, we’ve put together a trailer imagining what a live-action Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film might look like. While we’re not exactly sure if Ben Affleck would be keen, the premise seems fun. It certainly imagines a better Turtles franchise than the one we were given.
