WB Games has announced Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate, the expanded version of the critically acclaimed video game which includes three new playable characters – Mileena, Rain, and John Rambo who is voiced by the legendary Sylvester Stallone.
The new version of the NetherRealm Studios game will include all previously released content, including the Aftermath expansion and its extra characters, various character skins, and all the characters from Kombat Pack 1 and Kombat Pack 2.
The trailer for the game features fan favourites, Rain and Mileena, who were missing from the initial roster. The clip also introduces Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo, who dives right into a jungle battle after declaring that he is “your worst nightmare”.
While the inclusion of Rambo might seem like an odd choice, NetherRealm Studios in known for adding a variety of guest characters to the Mortal Kombat universe in recent times.
Terminator, RoboCop, Spawn, and the Joker have all made an appearance in the game.
Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate is set to launch globally on November 17th for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch and Google Stadia. Additionally, fans that purchase the game on PS4 or Xbox One will be eligible for a free next-gen upgrade.
With the next-gen systems’ increased capabilities in mind, the game will also feature graphical improvements such as 4K resolution, enhanced visuals, improved loading times and cross-gen capabilities for select modes.
The eleventh instalment in Mortal Kombat series has been the fastest-selling title in franchise’s history, with more than 8 million units sold to date.
The game was also named Fighting Game of the Year at the 23rd D.I.C.E. Awards by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, and Best Fighting Game of 2019 by IGN.
