Will Superman Be In The Next Justice League Trailer?

It probably doesn’t take a keen eye to notice that Superman has been missing from the previous Justice League trailers. Having died at the end of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it totally makes sense that Warner is saving his resurrection as a big reveal in the upcoming comic book film. Now, a new rumour swirling around Reddit claims that the next trailer will offer the first look at the return of Henry Cavill’s Superman.

Rumours are a dime a dozen in the DCEU. Every week a new piece of news pops up that’s more absurd than the first. However, Kal-El’s resurrection was pretty much a given. Even director Zack Snyder eluded to it. While we still don’t how, why and when Superman will show up in Justice League, we know that it’s coming.

This new rumour comes to us from DCEU Leaks, a popular subreddit. Reddit user DCVMARVEL, who has a reputation for being right in the past, claims that Superman will appear in the next Justice League trailer.

DCVMARVEL unpacked what his “sources” have seen:

“The preview starts with the same footage of Batman recruiting flash, then logos(including the new DC logo). we cut to a montage of the team. Bruce talking to Diana at some kind of museum. Cyborg looking depressed as he walks through the hall of a high school(apparently we see him use some kind of holographic projection to blend in) with voice over from Victor saying ”I never asked for this. I didn’t want to be some thing.”

We then see Aquaman in Atlantis (apparently resembles castle ruins), talking with Vulko (William Dafoe) about his destiny. We see a motherbox being guarded by Atlantian soldiers when out of nowhere there’s an attack. Steppenwolf takes the motherbox, Aquaman swims after him, Steppenwolf throws his axe at Aquaman & in slow motion Arthur dodges it.

we cut to Batman, WW, Flash & Cyborg being overwhelmed by parademons in some kind of tunnel, the tunnel floods and Aquaman shows up to save the team. We get the ”dressed like a bat, I dig it” then Aquaman asks Batman for help. We cut to the team entering the Batcave as Flash geeks out. voice over from Batman about the parademons (referred to them as creatures) kidnapping scientists. WW asks what’s the plan as Flash asks Alfred for some service, Alfred walks off.

Montage of action(slow mo shot of WW falling while trying to reach her sword as flash tips it with his finger so she can grab it, Cyborg punches Aquaman as Aquaman throws him against the wall as the shot transitions into Aquaman throwing Bruce against the wall, Aquaman, WW & Flash guarding what appears to be the scout ship, Batman gliding into a parademon, Steppenwolf stepping on WW’s chest, Cyborg standing on a football field).

Flash then makes a joke about Cyborg looking like the tin man. After the JL title card, we get the money shot. Batman is driving towards some kind of ship when Superman in the black suit, beard & mullet lands right in front of it, red eyes and an evil smirk(fire in the background, raining ash, great visual shot) while Batman has a look of ”oh shit” as the trailer ends.”

There is a lot to digest there and most of it seems to be on point. How true it all is, we don’t know. Reshoots are currently ongoing with Joss Whedon, but we might get another trailer as early as next month. Personally, I would prefer that Superman’s involvement remain a mystery. Wonder Woman did well to keep most of its reveals and footage a secret. Let’s hope DC and Warner do the same with JL.

As I’ve done with all theater releases in the last 15 years, I refuse to watch any trailers, due to how much they reveal. I want to go into a movie with anticipation and wonder, not having already seen half the damn thing via trailers. Makes for a much more unbiased and fun viewing.

People want to be spoonfed of late. It’s a trailer. The expectation enough should be fine. DC did so well with Wonder Woman and not even mentioning the big bad. Just follow that suit and they shouldn’t blow their load like that with Doomsday.

I honestly don’t know. I mean I want to see more about Superman in the next trailer, like some people mention him, Batman remembering him or something like Flash saying he was inspire by him. Stuff like that. But no, I do not want to see his face or his shadow in the JL trailer

No, it would be so much better if they leave that until the movie.
