Let’s be honest, everybody loves playing Mario games. Most of us grew up playing some of the earlier entries in the franchise, and many first fell in love with the Italian plumber and his Mushroom Kingdom. Now, a new fan game called Super Mario Flashback combines elements from many of the classic Super Mario games into one gorgeous pixel art package.
Super Mario Flashback is a fan-made game that is being developed by a 20-year-old Turkish student, who mostly taught himself how to program. He’s been working on the game for over 5 years, with the project starting back in 2013 with an idea to develop a Mario game that would reimagine levels and mechanics from previous games such as Super Mario 64 and even New Super Mario Bros..
Even the music has received a shiny new makeover, with many being remixes of popular Mario game themes.
We really hope that Nintendo allows Mors to continue development of the game as they tend to quickly issue cease-and-desists when they feel someone is wrongfully taking advantage of their IPs. Looking at the below trailer, we truly hope that Nintendo let’s this one slide or, even better, gives the project their support.
