Get ready to have your world turned upside down again because the Stranger Things kids are back for a whole new adventure! The third season of the nostalgia inspired series will consist of eight episodes which will be released worldwide on July 4, 2019.
The story takes place a year after the events of season two, in the summer of 1985. Mike and Eleven have developed a romantic relationship, as have Max and Lucas. The kids are living seemingly normal lives after defeating the Mind Flayer. But things aren’t always as they seem in Hawkins.
With the Fourth of July holiday approaching strange things start to happen. Lucas’ sister, Erica, discovers a mysterious new threat and a lifeguard at the community pool suddenly disappears. To make matters worse Hawkins has a new, morally corrupt Mayor whose administration supported and presided over the construction of the new Starcourt Mall.
Streaming giant Netflix recently released the first full trailer for Stranger Things Season 3 which opens with the gang using Eleven’s powers as part of a surprise, welcome home party for Dustin (which doesn’t end very well).
The rest of the trailer focuses on the more-grown-up kids enjoying summer in Hawkins. But don’t worry about it being a little too teen-angsty. The show still promises to be action-packed, with a whole new bunch of bad guys and alien monsters.
Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp reprise their roles as Eleven, Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will respectively. The supporting cast which includes Winona Ryder (Joyce), David Harbour (Hopper), Natalia Dyer (Nancy), Charlie Heaton (Jonathan), Joe Keery (Steve) and Sadie Sink (Max), also return to the show.
