SPOILER WARNING: BirthMoviesDeath is reporting that the mysterious character that appeared in a deleted scene released by Warner Bros. featuring Lex Luthor is Steppenwolf, the main villain in the upcoming Justice League movie.
According to the report, “Darkseid is a presence in the movie, and fully appears at the end of the film, but don’t expect him to do much.” Of course, it’s just a rumour for now. Nothing official has been released, but BirthMoviesDeath have generally had a good reputation with inside info about the DC Universe.
Steppenwolf seems like an odd choice, especially considering everyone is looking to Darkseid. Although, it’s possible that he could appear as the main villain in the follow-up; Justice League Part 2.
Justice League in currently filming in London with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot reprising their roles as the DC Trinity, Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Joining them are Jason Mamoa as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Ezra Miller as The Flash. Justice League has a release date of November 10, 2017.
Steppenwolf is a supervillain created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in New Gods vol. 1 #7 (February 1972). As one of the New Gods, Steppenwolf (which is German for “Wolf of the Steppe,” or coyote) is the younger brother of Heggra, and the uncle of Uxas (Darkseid). He is also a member of Darkseid’s Elite. He leads the military of Apokolips and also rides a hover bike which may be at the same level of technology as Orion’s.
