South African Developer The Brotherhood, the same team behind the game STASIS, have announced their next game called Beautiful Desolation that takes place in a futuristic version of Africa.
The Brotherhood has released a teaser trailer for Beautiful Desolation that reveals just a teeny weeny bit of what the game will look like and what feel and atmosphere they are trying to create. The team has said, in an interview with PC Gamer, that the game will take place in a futuristic version of Africa, complete with strange giraffe-like creatures.
“set in a distant future in an evocative African landscape,”
It seems the team has been mulling around the idea for Beautiful Desolation for quite some time, but as the story and concept for STASIS grew the team decided to push it to the sidelines.
“Several years ago we had an idea for an adventure story set in a post-apocalyptic world. During our brainstorming sessions, we kept circling back to a particular story,”
The game is still in very early development with no release date in sight, but those that are intrigued by the game (as you should be) can sign up for notifications on the game’s site.
In the meantime The Brotherhood is also working on Cayne, a prequel to STASIS developed from the ground up incorporating higher resolutions among other upgrades. Cayne will be a freestanding chapter and players won’t need the original STASIS to play it.
