Not only is Daisy Ridley playing one of the most important characters in the Star Wars saga, but now, on the heels of her breakout performance, the 23-year-old Brit actress is in the running for another icon; archaeologist and adventurer Lara Croft.
Deadline reports that Warner Bros. and MGM are eyeing the young actress as the potential lead in the forthcoming reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise (which received renewed interest following the release of the 2013 Tomb Raider video game). Played by Angelina Jolie in the original films, we imagine that Tomb Raider would have to work around Ridley’s busy schedule of filming and promoting Star Wars sequels. The film might take the route of the latest games focusing on the character’s early days as an adventurer.
However, conversations are still in the early stages, and no official offers have been made yet.
