It has been announced that the latest Star Wars Battlefront II update will let players play as those furry alien bears, the Ewoks. And they say dreams don’t come true.
Way before there was the hated Jar-Jar Binks or even the adorable Porgs, there was the Ewoks. First appearing in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Ewoks soon infiltrated every corner of pop culture, even spawning their own cartoon series. Love them or hate them, there is no question that these furry monstrosities have left an impact on the Star Wars universe. Now a new update for Star Wars Battlefront II will allow players to take on the role of one of these spear-wielding fur balls in a new mode called Ewok Hunt.
The new mode will see one player taking on the role of an Ewok. They are tasked with taking out a group of pesky and, more importantly, unsuspecting Stormtroopers. Each defeated Stormtrooper spawns another Ewok, this continues until the Empire forces are overwhelmed and the Ewoks are left to victoriously cheer.
Players will be able to choose between playing as an Ewok or a Stormtrooper. But let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to play as an Ewok?
Along with the news, EA also released a new short trailer featuring a group of Ewoks attacking a StormTrooper regiment.
The Star Wars Battlefront II update is set for release on the 18th of April 2018. Happy hunting.
