Netflix has released a new teaser for Marvel’s The Defenders, which is narrated by and features Marvel King Stan Lee, and also teases the Punisher.
“Looks like I arrived just in time,” Frank Castle, played by Jon Bernthal, says in the new promo video. Covered in dirt and stray bullets, Punisher looks more hardcore than he did in the Daredevil series.
Sadly, the Marvel character won’t be showing up in The Defenders (or maybe he will?), which will focus on Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), Iron Fist (Finn Jones), Elektra (Elodie Yung) uniting against Sigourney Weaver’s Alexandra.
Much of the teaser is recycled shots from the previous Netflix shows and the previous Defenders trailer, combined with several artsy angles of Stan Lee in the back of a car, with his voice narrating.
“Heroes show us we don’t need to be perfect to do what’s right,” Lee says at one point. “It’s not about living without fear, but facing injustice.”
