After numerous rumours revealing that there might be a remaster of Spyro the Dragon on the way, developer Toys for Bob has officially revealed a remaster titled Spyro Reignited Trilogy.
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy will include full remakes of all three games in the franchise, Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage! and Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon. All three games will feature from the ground up HD makeovers, refined controls, and improved level designs among other enhancements.
Pal Yan, Chief Creative Officer at Toys for Bob, expressed how much the team loves and respects the original games, and how they tried to be as true as possible to the original vision for the trilogy of games.
“We’re deeply passionate about staying true to the legacy of the original three Spyro games with the Spyro Reignited Trilogy.We’ve poured a lot of love into making the personalities and worlds feel just like fans remember them, while also keeping the game collection surprisingly fresh with lush, high definition detail. We’re bringing back the Spyro we all fell in love with 20 years ago.”
The trilogy is set for release on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on the 21st of September 2018. This is the second from the ground up remaster from Activision as last year they released the critically acclaimed Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy.
