Insomniac Games have revealed more details about their newly announced PlayStation 5 game, Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
When Spider-Man: Miles Morales was first revealed, fans were concerned that this would only be a small expansion to the original Spider-Man game. News soon started to circulate that the game would be similar to the Uncharted spin-off, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, in size and scope.
This was confirmed by the games creative director Brian Horton, who stated in a recent blog post that the game would be roughly the same size as Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
For reference, the game clocked in at around 8-10 hours, which is quite substantial.
When taking into consideration the short amount of time that has passed since the release of Spider-Man on the Playstation 4, it’s quite a feat that Insomniac was able to release another game in the same universe so quickly.
In the blog post, Horton also mentions how Miles Morales, the main protagonist of the upcoming game, gave the developer the chance to create a new story with new set pieces and fresh villains.
He commented on how Spider-Man: Miles Morales will take place a year after the events of the first game. It’s winter in New York and the city is covered in snow. Miles is now living in Harlem.
The game will have a heartfelt and emotional story that expands on the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.
Being released on the PlayStation 5 means that Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also have near-instant loading, retracting 3D audio, and more realistic character models and environments.
For those concerned that we might not see Peter Parker anytime soon, Horton assured fans that there were still much of Peter’s story left to tell and that fans wouldn’t want to miss what happens.
