It seems like PlayStation may have accidentally leaked information about a Spider-Man: Miles Morales suit inspired by the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse movie, based on the same character.
The leak was shared online by a few eagle-eyed fans who spotted a copyright clause for an Into the Spider-Verse suit in the fine print at the bottom of PlayStation’s official webpage for Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Although the leak hasn’t been verified, the information was removed from the PlayStation site soon after it was discovered.
Whether the leak actually holds any weight is rather irrelevant as fans are almost guaranteed to get some sort of crossover between Insomniac’s upcoming PS5 game and Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s 2018 animated hit, especially since they’re both owned by Sony.
The first alternative suit for Spider-Man: Miles Morales was revealed following last week’s PS5 Showcase. Additionally, the announcement confirmed that players who pre-order the Launch Day Edition of the Spider-Man PS4 sequel will receive access to the T.R.A.C.K. outfit and another suit that’s still to be confirmed.
The mystery suit could very well be the leaked Spider-Verse attire. Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait too long to find out.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available for the PlayStation 4, and as a launch title for the PlayStation 5 on November 12th and November 19th, 2020. It will be the second game in the Spider-Man series, following Marvel’s Spider-Man in 2018.
The story follows the events of Marvel’s Spider-Man (and its downloadable content, The City That Never Sleeps), during which Miles is bitten by a genetically-enhanced spider and gains powers similar to Peter Parker’s. A year later, Miles has embraced his role as Spider-Man and is defending his home in Harlem and the rest of New York City from a gang war between the Roxxon Energy Corporation and a high-tech criminal army called, Underground.
