Even though we’ve all said our goodbyes to comic book legend Stan Lee, fans can still look forward to seeing the Marvel icon again over the next few months in numerous cameo appearances. One of those includes appearing in animated form in Sony’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.
The film’s producers, Phil Lord and Chris Miller, have confirmed a cameo while discussing the first time they met Stan Lee.
When we came in, we thought we were going to pitch him ideas, but he ended up pitching us no less than seven ideas in a 45-minute meeting. That’s just the kind of guy he was — an idea machine. He seemed to be a man to whom creation was as automatic as breathing. We were lucky to have him adorn our movie [Spider- Man: Into the Spider-Verse, opening Dec. 14] with his voice [cameo].
Of course, Lee’s appearance in the film shouldn’t be a surprise to Marvel fans. The comic book writer/creator has appeared in nearly every Marvel property over the last few years. He will also appear in Disney’s Ralph Breaks the Internet out next week. Who or what he will appear as remains to be seen, however. Will he appear as himself or possibly voice one of the many Spider-Men from across the Spider-verse?
You can listen out for the voice of Stan Lee, and possibly getting emotional while hearing it, when Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse hits theatres on December 14.
