“You’re the Spider-Man from YouTube!” says Peter Parker’s starstruck friend in the new Spider-Man: Homecoming clip released at the MTV Movie & TV Awards.
The new clip shows an extended version of what we’ve seen in the trailers, with Peter returning home after a mission and accidentally revealing his identity to his geeky friend Ned. The two friends were supposed to finish the Lego Death Star they’ve been building together.
A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
Spider-Man: Homecoming stars Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Bokeem Woodbine, Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress, Marisa Tomei, Angourie Rice, Logan Marshall-Green, Tony Revolori and Robert Downey Jr. The movie is directed by Jon Watts and is set for release on July 7.
