Earlier today OneDayOnly had a sale on App Controlled Sphero BB-8 Droid which sold out in just a few minutes. The advanced robotic toy garnered a lot of attention from kids and adults after the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Now, Sphero’s Cars ‘Ultimate Lightning McQueen’ figure is hoping to do the same.
Tech has come a long way since I was little. Thanks to the new Sphero Internet-connected toy (can it really be called a toy?), kids are able to interact with the lifelike Ultimate Lightning McQueen, based on the Owen Wilson-voiced character from the Pixar film. By interact, we mean they are able to drive it around, talk to it and play games with it. This is a car that you can control from your iPhone or Android. Its front windshield is an LCD screen displaying Lightning’s animated eyes. It also talks (300 different verbal phrases) using an animatronic mouth and response to taps on the roof. When you’re done playing, the Cars Toy powers down automatically.
