Many have been wondering if the upcoming Sonic Mania game would reignite our love for the blue hedgehog. Although there is no clear answer to this question yet, we now at least know when the game will be releasing.
Sega has announced that Sonic Mania will be speeding onto consoles and PC in August 2017. Along with the news of a release date, Sega also released a new trailer for the game, showcasing our blue hero in action. The new game is a return to everything we loved about the Sonic games, super speeds, retro graphics and slick level design. Players will be able to play as either Sonic, Tails or Knuckles as they explore brand new and updated classic levels. Seeing Sonic blaze through these retro-inspired levels brings back all kinds of nostalgia from when I was a kid playing on my Sega Genisis.
I truly hope that the new Sonic game makes players care about the blue hedgehog again as many players have given up on him. Hopefully, Sega doesn’t drop the ball on this.
