Earth! Fire! Wind! Water! Heart! The ’90s animated superhero show Captain Planet will be making its way back into the limelight this April when the six season series becomes available for digital download. Go planet!
The blue skinned superhero that’s concerned about saving the planet from pollution will be available for purchase for the first time ever starting 10 April on iTunes, Amazon Video, Vudu, PlayStation Store, Xbox Store and Google Play.
First airing back in 1990, Captain Planet and the Planeteers — later known as The New Adventures of Captain Planet and The All New Adventures of Captain Planet — the series has a strong focus on making kids aware of environmental issues. It tells the story of five teenagers from across the globe who are given an elemental power ring to combat eco-terrorists. Together they are able to summon the superhero Captain Planet. To this day, the show has maintained a fan base and remains a pop culture icon.
