Filming for the upcoming Predator film has begun and we’ve got our first official look at Shane Black’s Predator cast. Unfortunately, it doesn’t include Arnold Schwarzenegger.
There are a lot of good things going for this new Predator film. One of them is the great cast. The image above features (standing from left to right): Sterling K. Brown, Trevante Rhodes, Boyd Holbrook, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn and Keegan-Michael Key. After several months of casting announcements that included Benicio Del Toro, who has since left the project, we finally get a look at the team. The most noticeable absence, however, is Arnold Schwarzenegger, who headed up the cast of the original film. On an episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Black said there were two different versions of the movie: one with Arnie, and one without him. From the looks of things, we might be getting the latter.
Shane Black, who is both writing and directing the project, also tweeted out that the new Predator movie will be rated-R: “And, just to be clear… PG-13 is for p-ssies. Spines bleed… a lot.”

The new film will follow Boyd Holbrook as an ex-marine who discovers that a Predator has descended upon his peaceful neighbourhood but finds that no one believes him. The film is part of the original Predator franchise, following 1987’s Predator, 1990’s Predator 2 and 2010’s Predators. The Predator is slated for a February 9, 2018 release.
And, just to be clear… PG-13 is for pussies. Spines bleed… a lot.
